About Us
In the summer of 2022, Steve Paul and his wife Lauren, from Newton, Massachusetts,
decided to purchase and renovate a 100+ year old, double shotgun house in
New Orleans, and that's where the fun began.

Steve, who knows just enough to stay out of trouble, documents the down-and-dirty details, including the financial, structural, cosmetic and emotional.
Lauren has a fabulous eye for style, color, furniture -- all aspects of the design side.

What's the Backstory?
Steve and Lauren spent the winter of 2022 as snowbirds in New Orleans, Louisiana.
We fell in love with the walking, festing, parading lifestyle. Steve, a virtual events producer, and Lauren, a freelance writer for almost 30 years, came back to their house of 23 years in Newton, Massachusetts, and decided to make a change. A big change.

We sold our house, moved into a apartment in Watertown, Massachusetts, and went looking for a place near Magazine St in NOLA.
The Cast
Steve, HGTV enthusiast and homeowner for over 30 years, has remodeled and maintained his own properties in the Massachusetts area. Projects included:

Lauren is a freelance writer. She knows nothing about the work of renovation, but can blow out a furniture budget very quickly.
